Election under army rule and blockade is an insult to the people of Manipur!

Fight for workers’ and peasants’ rule and a new voluntary Indian Union!

Call of Communist Ghadar Party of India on the occasion of elections to the Manipur Assembly, 11th February, 2017

The Election Commission has announced 4th and 8th March as the dates for election to the 60-member Legislative Assembly of Manipur. The election process is to take place in unusually difficult conditions, caused by prolonged trade blockade and the Note Ban, in addition to the fascist reign of terror by the central armed forces.

Massive escalation of state terrorism in Arunachal Pradesh

The Central government has decided to extend Army rule to almost the whole of Arunachal Pradesh. As per a new notification issued by the Home Ministry on March 27, 2015, all the 10 districts of Arunachal Pradesh bordering the state of Assam have been declared as “Disturbed Area” under Section 3 of AFSPA, 1958, for the next one year.

Judicial Appointments Commission & 121st Constitution Amendment Bills

Judiciary, parliament and executive must be under people's control, not the bourgeoisie!

The credibility crisis of the institutions has their root in the fact that all of them, together and separately, represent only the interests of the propertied classes, especially the biggest Indian and foreign monopolies. They do not represent the people of India, her workers and peasants, women and youth, the people of the oppressed nationalities, the tribal peoples, and minorities.

Condemn the brutal killing of a student from the North East!

This tragedy cannot be seen as an isolated incident, but as one that is part of the daily experience of people from the North East in India.  Ever since the end of colonial rule, the entire North East region has been treated by the Indian state as a virtual colony and its people have been consistently denied their national, political and human rights.  Even while the façade of civilian rule has been maintained, it is the Army and the paramilitary forces that call the shots there.

Bomb blasts in Imphal

This is not insurgency – it is state terrorism!

The struggle to ensure justice, security and dignity for women has to be taken forward!

The Justice J.S. Verma Committee, which was constituted by the government following the brutal gang-rape and subsequent death of a 23 year old woman in New Delhi on December 16, 2012, and the nation-wide agitations that followed demanding that the government take stern steps to prevent crimes against women, released its recommendations on January 23, 2013.

Blame the central state and its policy for the terror and insecurity faced by the peoples of the North East!

Army rule is the reality in most parts of the North East.  For the peoples of the North-East, the departure of the British in 1947 did not mean the end of colonial rule.  The region has been ruled virtually as a colony from New Delhi right from that time.  When the peoples of this region have demanded their national and political rights, they have been beaten down ruthlessly, and called agents of foreign powers.

Having been at the receiving end of repression and terror at the hands of the central state and its agencies for so many decades, it is natural that the peoples of this region do not trust the central leaders, who are today promising protection for North-Eastern peoples, declaring they are all Indians.  Many of them can see that this is actually a veiled threat; they are being told to better be loyal to the Indian Union and its policy, if they want to feel safe.

Central authority held responsible for the insecurity among peoples of the North-East

Far from protecting human beings and their rights, the central authority today is creating an atmosphere of terror and insecurity among the various peoples of the Northeast on narrow, sectarian and communal basis,” said Comrade Prakash Rao, Spokesperson of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, on 27th August in Delhi.  He was speaking at a Public Forum organised by Lok Raj Sangathan on the question:  Who is responsible for the insecurity of the peoples of the Northeast?

State assembly elections in Manipur: Issue is to permanently repeal AFSPA and end army rule!

Perpetuation of fascistic army rule and denial of the right to self-determination are the source of the problem. There is widespread opposition to this illegitimate authority. The central state paints such opposition as a threat to the “unity and integrity” of India and uses it as an excuse for continuing its fascist rule.

Manipur blockade: Divide and rule politics of Indian state is to blame for present crisis in Manipur

Denial of national and political rights is built into the very structure of the present-day Indian Union. Within this Indian Union, certain nations and nationalities, particularly in the north-east region, have historically been the targets of extreme national oppression. This deep-seated historical problem must be resolved.

On the tenth anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan by US imperialism

Anti-Imperialist forces resolve to throw imperialists out of Asia

We denounce the decision of the Manmohan Singh government to send the Indian Army to Afghanistan to "train" the puppet Afghan army, set up by the US imperialists, to attack the Afghan people's anti-imperialist national liberation struggle. We consider this as an excuse to intervene in Afghanistan against our own brothers and sisters.

We believe that the fountainhead of terrorism worldwide is US imperialism.

Mercy Petitions: The real culprits remain unpunished!

What is common in all three cases is that the courts, from the trial courts to the Supreme Court, passed political judgments based on concocted evidence by the state. The ruling class whipped up passions and the courts passed judgments accordingly. The court verdicts are a continuation of the policy of state terrorism unleashed by the Indian state against the people in these areas.

Deteriorating conditions in Manipur

State and individual terrorism, parasitic extortion economy & all-round corruption

As has been noted in the Report of the 4th Congress of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, “Those waging guerilla warfare as part of a ‘protracted people’s war’ in the present period, when revolution is in ebb, are either compelled to give up arms or to become terrorist gangs.  Lack of mass support drives such underground parties and groups to use force to collect ‘taxes’ and ‘fines’ from the people, or carry out killings for a fee.  Rival capitalist parties use such groups to settle scores among themselves, and to destroy popular movements.”

Kashmir: Real face of Indian democracy

The Editor, Apropos the article entitled 'Kashmir - an exposure of the real face of Indian democracy’, I am writing to express my thanks to the CGPI for its bold and categorical stand on the matter.  Written in the wake of the 'all-party’ delegation’s visit to Srinagar to supposedly appraise itself of the situation, the article captured in no uncertain terms that the mask of Indian democracy has been torn apart by the thousands of brave men, women and children who have come out into the streets to express their anger against continuous and increased repression under the hands of the state.

Kashmir – an exposure of the real face of Indian democracy

After more than three months of continuous mass protests in Kashmir, and the killing of more than a hundred people in daily shootings by the armed forces there, the UPA government finally came up with its long-awaited policy measure to deal with the explosive situation there – an ‘all-party’ delegation visit to Kashmir to observe the problem first-hand! As the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar reacted incredulously, “Doesn’t the government of India already know the situation that is prevailing in Kashmir?!” This latest move only confirms the utter bankruptcy of the Indian state, its inability to even pretend that it has a solution to the problem.
