Campaign of Mazdoor Ekta Committee:

We must ensure the Rule of Workers to secure the rights of labour!

“Survey of the rights of workers” is the campaign that is under process in Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Estate 1 & 2. Mazdoor Ekta Committee (MEC) has plans to run this campaign all over Delhi. It was begun in Okhla. The campaign took off on 13th May 2014 and was continuing even as this report was filed.

Mumbai Suburban train drivers strike work in defence of their livelihood

On May 4, 2010, Mumbai was brought to a grinding halt as a result of the strike of Suburban train drivers. The impact of the strike reverberated in the halls of parliament. Only after the Union Government announced that it would address the demands of the motormen by June 15 2010, did the motormen announce the temporary suspension of their agitation. The motormen had made their point, not only to the Railway Ministry, but to the whole country.

Capitalist system ensures maximum exploitation of the working class

Recently the Delhi Government announced an increase in the minimum wages effective 1st February 2010. As per the revised wages, the minimum monthly wage for an unskilled worker will be Rs. 5,278. This increase is the result of the persistent struggle of workers, trade unions and other organizations like the Mazdoor Ekta Committee.

March 18 this year marks the 139th anniversary of the Paris Commune, one of the greatest and most inspiring events in the history of the working class. Through a heroic revolutionary uprising, the working people of Paris took over the reins of political power and established their own state power, in the form of the Paris Commune, from March 26 until May 30, 1871, when it was brutally crushed.

It is seeking new markets, sources of energy, minerals and raw materials, as well as profitable fields for investment of its capital.  One of the areas where it is expanding its presence most dramatically in recent years is the resource-rich continent of Africa.

The struggle for women’s emancipation has always been integrally linked with the struggle of the working class for socialism

This year marks a very important event – the 100th anniversary of the declaration of International Women’s Day.  In 1910, at the International Conference of Socialist Women in Copenhagen, Denmark, the German socialist leader Clara Zetkin had proposed the observance of an international day of struggle of women for their rights and their emancipation.

100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.

The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
