What does the declaration of the BRICS Summit reveal?

The BRICS grouping, just like other imperialist groupings, is wrought with contradictions between the member states. India and China for example have contradictions over unequal trade relations; they are competing for energy and other resources in Myanmar, South Sudan and other countries of Africa. They are contending with each other in Nepal, Sri Lanka, and South East Asia.


Women's day celebrated in the Madanpur Khadar resettlement colony

International Women's Day was celebrated in the resettlement colony of Madanpur Khadar located in the eastern part of Delhi on 31st March 2012. The meeting was jointly organised by the Purogami Mahila Sangathan (PMS) and the Lok Raj Sangathan (LRS). The participants included housewives, boy and girl students of schools and colleges, young men and women and political activists.

It is with deep sorrow that Mazdoor Ekta Lehar announces the death of Com. Gurucharan Das. He was 52 years old when he died on March 12th of a heart attack. He worked in the Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala.

Pilots, Cabin crew and ground staff of Kingfisher airlines have been waging many struggles for several months inthe wake of the deliberate plan of the owner of Kingfisher Airlines to make the workers of this loss-making airlines bear the brunt of the losses through wage cuts as well as layoffs and retrenchment.


Aplab workers on strike

On 24th March, more than 150 workers of Aplab went on strike. They had fulfilled the legal requirement of 15 days’ notice to the management. For the last two years this internal union has been repeatedly trying to hold discussions with the management, however, the management has been ignoring their request.

The workers of Air India — pilots, engineers, ground staff and cabin crew have been waging a protracted struggle against the anti worker policies of the Air India management and Civil Aviation Ministry. One of the biggest attacks on these workers has been the nonpayment of wages for months on end.

“We will feel safer when US forces leave” was the unanimous sentiment expressed by people of Afghanistan, who gathered to protest against the invasion of their country by the US, 10 years ago on October 7, 2011. The protestors clearly wanted the immediate withdrawal of US and other foreign troops from their country.

100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.

The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
