Party school on constitution

On December 25, 2013, the Communist Ghadar Party of India completed 33 years since its founding. The occasion was marked by celebrations organized by the party organizations in different regions of the country. The Central Committee had previously planned to organize a series of Party Schools in different regions.

Elections to the Bangladesh parliament were held on January 5, 2014 in the backdrop of a severe political crisis in that country. The 28 party opposition coalition headed by the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) of Khaleda Zia boycotted the elections.

Steep hike in LPG prices:

Another attack on the working people

On January 1, 2014 the price of non-subsidized cooking gas (LPG) was raised by Rs. 220, one of the steepest hikes so far. Following the increase, a 14.2 kg non-subsidized cooking gas cylinder will now cost Rs. 1,241, while it earlier cost Rs. 1,021.

Who benefits from the rise in vegetable prices?

In the year that has gone by, one of the biggest burdens on the masses of working people has been the sharp and continuous rise in prices of vegetables. This added to the burden the people were already facing because of the rise in the prices of a whole host of other essential commodities. The rise in prices was particularly severe in the case of onions, and also potatoes and tomatoes.
