32 years after Operation Blue Star:

Condemn the fascist attack of the Indian state on the people of Sikh faith!

The brutal attack by the armed forces of the Indian state on the Golden Temple – the holy shrine of the Sikhs – on June 6, 1984, was condemned at a public meeting organized by Lok Raj Sangathan in New Delhi on June 5, 2016. The hall was filled to more than capacity. A large number of youth and students were present.

The struggle of the farmers of Amarsingh Branch, Nohar Feeder in Hanumangarh:

Farmers to take the struggle for water supply for irrigation to its end!

The farmers of Nohar block in Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan and the Nohar council of Lok Raj Sanghathan are waging relentless struggle day and night for adequate supply and distribution of water for irrigation to the farmers. The “kisanmazdoorvyapari joint action committee, peasant leaders of Nohar and members of Lok Raj Saghathan along with its vice president comrade Hanuman Prasad Sharma are mobilizing farmers in the region for the struggle. On the other side, the state administration and police are trying to block this struggle, but have been unsuccessful in their efforts to break the unity of the farmers.

No justification for state terrorism in Mathura

According to news reports, on 2nd June, the Uttar Pradesh police launched an operation to clear a government park in Mathura of a group of encroachers. Twenty seven people died during this action, including five women and two children. Two police officers also died during the action. A large number of men, women and children received injuries, many grievous. Hundreds of women and men have been taken into police custody.

Bank Workers in 5 Associate banks of SBI go on strike on May 20th 2016

On May 17th 2016, the Boards of 5 Associate Banks of State Bank of India (SBI) i.e. State Bank of Travancore (SBT), State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) and State Bank of Patiala (SBP) met urgently in Mumbai, at State Bank of India Head Quarters from 1100 hrs  to 1400 hrs. The meeting was called with three days advance notice but without disclosing the agenda. At this meeting, one by one each of the Boards passed resolutions closing down their respective banks without giving any reason for the same! The meeting was attended by Bank Directors, Government nominated Directors, representatives of Reserve Bank of India, independent Directors as well as one workman director from each bank. Only the workman Director from each bank protested this sudden and totally unilateral resolution. However the resolutions were passed with the rest of the  directors agreeing to it except for a few independent directors and the workmen directors.
