Meeting organized on the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany

An important public meeting was organized under the initiative of Lok Raj Sangathan on 10th May 2015, under the banner, “The lessons of history must not be forgotten”. The meeting was to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany.

Mayday celebration marked by the determination of working class to carry on the struggle

Mayday was observed jointly by working class organisations in cities and industrial areas throughout the country. Workers across various industries and trades joined the rallies. The working class honoured its martyrs with the hoisting of the red flag in their factories and residential colonies. Rallies, marches and meetings were organized in various places.

Oppose further attacks on rights of workers

The Ministry of Labour has issued a Draft Labour Code on Industrial Relations Bill, 2015. It convened a tripartite meeting on May 6, 2015 to discuss the Bill.  The trade unions have criticized the proposed Bill and have said that the consultations in this regard were a "farce". "As per the ILO convention 141, the interested parties should be consulted at time of drafting legislation.

Transport workers strike total

A country wide strike by crores of road transport workers against the Road Transport and Safety Bill 2014 took place on April 30, 2015. Between 6 am and 6 pm, on that day, in all states of the Indian union, autos, buses — both private and public, and also goods transporters struck work in protest against the Bill which is totally against their interests.
