Modi’s Visit to the US

In service of the imperialist drive of the Indian big bourgeoisie

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the US in the last week of September. The entire visit was covered by the electronic and print media of our country in such a manner as to make out that the whole of America was on its feet, cheering and saluting the arrival of India’s Prime Minister.


Prime Minister Modi greeted with powerful protests by Indians in the US

Nearly 3000 people, organised under the Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA), Alliance of South Asians taking Action (ASATA), the Sikh Information Center and other groups, are reported to have held protest demonstrations and sit-ins in Silicon Valley, USA, during the visit of PM Narendra Modi at the end of September.


Against imperialism in defence of peace and freedom

I am writing to thank you for the informative and important article entitled `70th anniversary of the defeat of Japanese militarism and the end of the Second World War' that carries the byline `Resolute struggle against US imperialism and its Pivot to Asia policy is necessary to defend peace and sovereignty of countries' carried in the October 1-15, 2015 issue of MEL. 


Agitation by farmers of Punjab

As we go to the press, the farmers of Punjab have been carrying on a militant agitiation for over two weeks to highlight the grievances of cotton farmers of the state and  put forth their demands. Eight farmers’ organisations of Punjab have launched this agitation beginning September 28, 2015. In the course of this struggle, they have organised rail and rasto roko at different places.
