In service of the imperialist drive of the Indian big bourgeoisie
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the US in the last week of September. The entire visit was covered by the electronic and print media of our country in such a manner as to make out that the whole of America was on its feet, cheering and saluting the arrival of India’s Prime Minister.
Nearly 3000 people, organised under the Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA), Alliance of South Asians taking Action (ASATA), the Sikh Information Center and other groups, are reported to have held protest demonstrations and sit-ins in Silicon Valley, USA, during the visit of PM Narendra Modi at the end of September.
On 2nd October 2015, Mulayam Singh’s house was gheroed on the issue of the murder of Akhlaq Ahmed and the muderous attacks on his family; those protesting were demanding punishment of those guilty of these crimes. This was followed by a rally to Jantar Mantar and a meeting there.
A joint demonstration was organised by Lok Raj Sangathan, Jamaat-e-Islami and various political and human rights organisations on 6th Ocotber at Juntar Mantar in New Delhi to protest against the murders of Akhlaq Ahmed in Dadri, NOIDA and of an old Dalit man for entering a temple in District Hamirpur of Uttar Pradesh.
There is a fierce clash going on in our country. The people of our country – workers, peasants, adivasis, women, various nationalities – are refusing to accept the oppressive and exploitative conditions and are demanding a change in these conditions.
A discussion was held on this theme on 3rd October 2015 at the office of Delhi Shramik Sanghathan (DSS). Young boys and girls participated in huge number in this discussion. They all came from residential colonies in north-west Delhi. This included workers, students and a few activists from the organisation.

The BJP led NDO government is continuously increasing the attacks on the right of the workers. Under the pretext of reforming the laws governing the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) it is encouraging privatisation of health insurance services, and ferociously attacking the rights of the workers to avail medical services.
As we go to the press, the farmers of Punjab have been carrying on a militant agitiation for over two weeks to highlight the grievances of cotton farmers of the state and put forth their demands. Eight farmers’ organisations of Punjab have launched this agitation beginning September 28, 2015. In the course of this struggle, they have organised rail and rasto roko at different places.
The all India general strike has been called to resolutely oppose the course of enriching the capitalist minority by impoverishing the toiling majority. It has been called to assert the rights that belong to workers, peasants and other toiling people who create the wealth of India.
Parties of the capitalist class claim that there is no alternative to the program of globalisation,liberalisation and privatisation. The truth is that there IS an alternative.The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the program for the Navnirman of India.
The Report to the Fifth Congress of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, presented by Comrade Lal Singh, General Secretary of the CGPI, on behalf of its Central Committee, was discussed and adopted by the Fifth Congress of the CGPI, held in November 2016. By decision of the Fifth Congress, this report has been edited for publication.

There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program.
