Oppose the fascist measure – Damage to Public Property Bill

I am writing to thank you for the important and informative article entitled `Condemn the proposed new fascist law attacking struggles of working class and peasantry' in the June 1-15, 2015 issue of MEL. This article is a very useful elaboration of how the bourgeoisie works and how it carries out its activities, by deploying all sorts of tools, legal, legislative and juridical in order to continue its dictatorship.

The provisions of the draft of the proposed Prevention of Damage to Public Property (Amendment) Bill of 2015 wishes to expand the authority of the bourgeoisie to crush any kind of organized resistance to its anti-social initiative. This bills seeks to target the leadership of organizations that are at the forefront of the struggle today. In particular, this bill if passed by Parliament and if promulgated into law, will give a huge amount of arbitrary power to the police to arrest and put such leadership behind bars, under the pretext that the latter masterminded vandalism during the course of protests.

No one will be able to say who has carried out vandalism, indeed, past experience shows that sections of the bourgeoisie itself carries it out in order to portray the working class as lumpen, and there is nothing to suggest that this cannot happen in the future. That said, leaders would have to prove that they had no foreknowledge of such actions, which would be impossible to prove. All should be forewarned that this will not be the last law along such lines in the game plan of the State to arm itself with more power than ever before. This should be an object lesson to study the moves of the bourgeoisie. It is to legitimize the brute crushing of struggles that are sure to erupt as the bourgeoisie takes the country down the path of disaster. Let us all second the call of the CGPI to raise a powerful voice in opposition to this fascist bill.

Manifesto 2014Unite around the program to reconstitute the Indian Republic and reorient the economy to ensure prosperity and protection for all!

There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program.
