Dena Bank employees carry out All India protest action

At the joint call of the All India Dena Bank Employees Coordination Committee and the All India Dena Bank Officers Union, employees of Dena Bank all over the country organised  demonstrations at 29 Zonal Offices of the Dena Bank all over the country in the evening on 19th March 2016. The demonstration in Jaipur occurred at the Zonal Office situated at Barfkhana in the Adarsh Nagar area of Jaipur at 5.15 p.m. Hundreds of bank workers working in different nationalised banks also participated in this action in support of the Dena Bank workers.

The General Secretary of the Dena Bank Employees Union, Rajasthan and the Chairman of the Officers Union, Mr Lokesh Mishra addressed the gathering and explained the situation being faced and the demands of the employees.

He said that the management of the Bank is not taking any action against those senior officials who were responsible for looting the monies of the bank by handing out loans to big capitalists and then declaring them "Non performing assets". On the other hand, it is attacking employees who are raising their voices for their just demands. He demanded amongst other things that there should be a clear transfer policy for Bank employees in order to ensure that those who raised their voices against injustice were not victimised.

The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s
needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the
