Condemn the murderous bombing of Gaza by Israeli forces

Hundreds of Palestinians including women and children have been killed in continuous bombing raids carried out by Israeli air force over Gaza since December 27, 2008. As we go to press, Israel has amassed its tanks on the Gaza border to begin an invasion. The Israeli Defence Minister has openly and arrogantly declared that the aim of the war against Gaza was to topple the elected Hamas government. “We have an all out war against Hamas and its kind. The goal of the operation is to topple Hamas”, declared the minister. In other words, the Israeli agressors have openly declared war on the Gaza government with the aim of “regime change”.

The Israeli Zionists have never accepted the right of Palestinians to have their own homeland. The present Palestinian National Authority consists of two parts — the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, separated from each other by the state of Israel. The Gaza strip is a small stretch of land enclosed by Israel on three sides and the sea on the other, a strip roughly 40 Km long and 5-8 Km wide, in which 1.5 million Palestinians live in terrible conditions. It has been occupied by the Israeli Zionists ever since the founding of state of Israel in 1948 until the formation of the Palestinian National Authority in the 1990s. Ever since Hamas won the elections in the Gaza strip in 2006, Israel with the support of the US has organised an economic blockade, as well as launched repeated military strikes, with the aim of subjugating the Palestinians. The present military offensive against the Palestinians is the most barbaric one in several years.

People's Voice condemns the Israeli government for carrying out these bestial massacres and for violating the sovereignty of the Palestinian National Authority. People's Voice denounces the US imperialists for their open support to the fascist and war mongering Israeli aggressors.
