Condemn the Continuing US Drone Attacks in Pakistan!

On 20th June, US drones fired missiles at a vehicle and house in northwest Pakistan, killing at least 11 people. On the same day, more than 1,000 tribesmen demonstrated against the drone attacks in Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan.  The demonstrators shouted "death to America" and vowed to continue their protest until the missile strikes are halted.

The United States has increased its use of drone strikes in Pakistan's northwest tribal areas since the 2nd May operation that allegedly killed Osama bin Laden.  Most of the attacks have been in North and South Waziristan, while the recent strikes were in Kurram, allegedly against Taliban and al-Qaida militants.

On 8th June, a pair of U.S. missile strikes killed at least 20 persons in North Waziristan.  The missiles were fired from drones within minutes of each other, with two of them hitting a vehicle and the other two a nearby compound. The strike took place in the village of Zoynarai in the Shawal area in the mountainous region close to the border with Afghanistan. These strikes came two days after U.S. missiles killed 18 persons in nearby South Waziristan

The United States does not officially confirm these drone strikes. However, the CIA and the US military are the only forces deploying such unmanned aircraft in the region.

The United States has no right to carry out such military strikes within Pakistan, which are opposed by the overwhelming majority of the people of the country. The Pakistani parliament approved a resolution demanding the end of the missile strikes, but the US has ignored it.

Indiscriminate attacks carried out from unmanned US aircrafts constitute a gross violation of the sovereignty of Pakistan. They deserve to be condemned by all peace-loving people.

Manifesto 2014Unite around the program to reconstitute the Indian Republic and reorient the economy to ensure prosperity and protection for all!

There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program.
