Struggle against Nuclear Plants

Dear Editor MEL,

We in Maharashtra are also fighting hard against proposed nuclear power plant in Jaitapur. While we knew about fight against Kudanukulam plant , we became aware of struggle against proposed Nuclear Power Plant in Gorakhpur through your news paper. It is extremely necessary for all of us fighting for the same cause to share our knowledge and experiences. We can learn a lot from each other. In Maharashtra many intellectuals are misled by government propaganda that government selects only barren land for Nuclear power plants. Information about Gorakhpur which you published i.e. land there is even more fertile than that of Punjab is very useful to dispel such doubts.

I would like to thank you on behalf of all those who are fighting against the demon of Nuclear Power. I would request you to keep educating us.

Amit , Mumbai

Parties of the capitalist class claim that there is no
alternative to the program of globalisation, liberalisation
and privatisation. The truth is thatthere IS an alternative.

The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s
needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the
program for the Navnirman of India.
