Lok Raj Sangathan’s initiative in taking forward the struggle for rights in Rajasthan

Peasants, workers, teachers, students and government employees are on the path of struggle all across Rajasthan. They are firmly opposing the increasing attacks on their rights. In this context, the Rajasthan unit of Lok Raj Sangathan is carrying on the work of building unity among the people. Efforts are on to establish lok samitis in every village and hamlet.

At this time, the Rajasthan government has suddenly announced the elections to the Nagar Palika (Municipal Corporations). The elections are to be held on 17th August.

Lok Raj Sangathan has issued an appeal to the voters in view of this announcement (see box). This has been distributed widely among the people in Rawatsar, Nohar, Bhadara, Hanumangadh, and various other towns.

The Lok Raj Samiti of Nohar district held a meeting in Kumhar Dharamshala on August 12. Mohar Singh Berad presided over this meeting. The meeting decided that a dharna would be organized in front of the sub-district office of Ramgadh on 24th August, to highlight the problems being faced by the people there. It was also decided that a demonstration would be held in front of the Nohar sub-division office to protest against the problems of people in the district.

The members of LRS Nohar district are making every effort to make all these programmes successful.

Parties of the capitalist class claim that there is no
alternative to the program of globalisation, liberalisation
and privatisation. The truth is thatthere IS an alternative.

The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s
needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the
program for the Navnirman of India.
