Massive protest rally against Indian state’s blockade of Nepal

Hundreds of Nepalese workers, participated in a militant protest rally in New Delhi on December 6, 2015 to voice their concern over the three month long inhuman economic blockade of Nepal by the Indian state.

Hundreds of Nepalese workers, participated in a militant protest rally in New Delhi on December 6, 2015 to voice their concern over the three month long inhuman economic blockade of Nepal by the Indian state.

The Delhi Police, under orders of the Central Government had tried to scuttle this rally of Nepali migrant workers, by denying the organisers permission to hold a rally. The Communist Ghadar Party of India hails the militant spirit of the Nepalese workers, who went ahead with the rally, despite the ban.

Four organisations of the Nepalese people working in India, jointly organised the march and public meeting. The protestors carried placards calling upon the government of India to immediately lift the blockade of Nepal, and to stop interfering in the internal affairs of Nepal. They raised slogans hailing the unity of the Nepalese and Indian people.

The public meeting was addressed by representatives of a number of communist parties and organisations of India. Addressing the gathering, the spokesperson of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, Comrade Prakash Rao hailed the fighting spirit of the Nepalese people and their unity, which had led to the overthrow of the monarchy after decades of heroic struggle. Our Party is with you in your just struggle today, just as it has always been with you in the past in the years of struggle against the monarchy. Condemning the inhuman blockade of Nepal by the Indian state, Comrade Prakash Rao declared that the Nepalese people had every right to decide their own constitution, free from outside interference. He condemned the Indian state for trying to divide the Nepalese people through its secret agencies, and demanded that the Indian state immediately lift the blockade of Nepal and stop interfering in Nepal's internal affairs. He concluded his speech, hailing the militant fighting unity of the people of Nepal and India, and declared that the Communist Ghadar Party of India will as always stand firmly in defence of the sovereignty of Nepal.
