Unite and fight for worker-peasant rule!

Call of the Central Committee, Communist Ghadar Party of India, 10th April, 2013

The 1st of May has been celebrated as the day of global assertion of the demands of the working class for over 120 years now.  It is a day of solidarity in the struggle to end capitalist wage-slavery and all forms of exploitation and oppression.

As we approach May Day 2013, there is an acute clash that is developing on the world scale between the working class and the bourgeoisie within every capitalist country.  Workers of all countries are refusing to put up with the all-round attacks on their rights and living standards for the sake of protecting monopoly capitalist profits.

Why should we who work who produce the wealth of society, bear the burden of a crisis brought about by the finance capitalist speculators and monopoly corporations?

Why should Indian workers put up with low wages and denial of basic rights while Indian capitalists aim for global standards?  Why should we put up with ever rising prices and taxes on every essential good and service we consume, while the central government protects only the interests of the biggest Indian and foreign capitalist investors?

The drive towards globalisation of the capital of the Tatas, Ambanis, Birlas and other corporate houses is a narrow-minded and dangerous imperialist agenda.  It is a program which is anti-worker, anti-peasant, anti-national and anti-social.  It is being imposed on us by the central and state governments run by the Congress Party, BJP and other regional bourgeois parties.  We have to unite and organise to see that this program is defeated.

Who is capable of mounting a strong enough opposition to defeat this program?  It is only we, the working class, who have the capacity and the interest to do so.  The 2-day General Strike in February, involving crores of workers from all sectors, showed our immense potential.  It showed that we have the capacity to bring the capitalist profit making machinery to a grinding halt.  If we persist in strengthening our political unity, we can definitely halt the capitalist offensive and turn things around.

The ruling bourgeois class is working overtime to destroy our unity, through communal division, by whipping up hysteria against Pakistan or through narrow party rivalry.  We must defend our fighting class unity and overcome all attempts to divert and divide us.  We must keep our focus on the aim of halting the capitalist offensive and bringing a worker-peasant alliance to power, so as to march ahead to bury capitalism and build socialism.  We must not get diverted by calls to defend secularism or the “unity and integrity of India”.

Let us aim for the largest possible number of workers on the streets on May Day this year!  Let us refuse to be mere voting cattle for capitalist parties!  Let us unite around our program to establish worker-peasant rule and reorient the economy to provide for all!

Hindostan belongs to us!  We are her masters!  This was the call of the heroes of the Great Ghadar of 1857.  Communist Ghadar Party calls on the workers, peasants, women and youth to work for the realisation of that historic call of our martyrs today!

Call of the Central Committee of Communist Ghadar Party of India, 30th August, 2012

Working class representatives from all over the country are gathering on 4th September, at a time when a titanic struggle is going on in our country. The struggle is between the majority of toiling and exploited people and a minority of exploiters. It is between the majority whose labour expands wealth and the minority who enjoy the fruits of wealth creation on the basis of their private property and positions of power.
