Condemn the massacre of innocent villagers by the fascist Andhra Police

Twenty innocent villagers were brutally shot dead by the Andhra Police in the Seshachalam forests near Chitoor in Andhra Pradesh on April 7, 2015. The Communist Ghadar Party of India condemns this barbaric act of state terrorism unleashed by the Andhra Pradesh police.

The Andhra Pradesh Police has tried to justify this barbaric killing as “self defence”. According to the police story, it has “no choice” but to shoot to kill, because allegedly a mob of over a hundred workers attacked the police party with sticks and stones, when they were stopped from cutting trees in the forest. The fraudulent character of this story has already been exposed by the account of witnesses who actually saw police pulling out 7 of the dead workers, the previous evening, from a bus on the Tamilnadu – Andhra Pradesh border. It is obvious that the 20 people shot dead by the Andhra Pradesh police are the innocent victims of a fake encounter. Over the decades, the police forces of the Indian state, in particular the Andhra Police have developed the method of killing innocent people and then portraying it as a encounter, in order to crush the toiling masses and their struggle for rights and justice.

The Communist Ghadar Party of India joins other democratic forces in fighting for punishment for those guilty of this heinous crime.
