On April 7, 2015, the Telengana Police shot dead 5 under trials in its custody. These 5 people, who are all Muslims and had been locked up in jail for being allegedly activists of SIMI, were shot dead by the police while on their way from their jail in Warangal, to the Court in Hyderabad.
The Indian police is notorious for eliminating people in such a manner. The usual story concocted is that the police were so “humanitarian” that they let the prisoners free to answer the call of nature, and that the prisoners were shot while trying to run away! This time too, the Telengana police justified the killings with a similar story. However, its story was exposed by its own evidence — the picture of one of the undertrials shot inside the police jeep, shows him with handcuffs on! In other words, what was carried out was cold blooded murder of these 5 people by the fascist Telengana police.
This brutal masacre must be viewed in the light of the record of the Indian state. Tens of thousands of political prisoners including fighters for the rights of people have been tortured and murdered by the police and armed forces of the Indian state over the decades.
