“We will feel safer when US forces leave” was the unanimous sentiment expressed by people of Afghanistan, who gathered to protest against the invasion of their country by the US, 10 years ago on October 7, 2011. The protestors clearly wanted the immediate withdrawal of US and other foreign troops from their country. “We want the US military and their Nato allies to leave Afghanistan immediately. We want them to stop killing innocent Afghans” was the message from the people of Afghanistan.
Hundreds of Afghans came together in Kabul on October 6, and clearly demonstrated their feelings of hatred for the US. They held aloft banners that reflected the atrocities committed against their people by the US. “Occupation – atrocities – brutality” was a sign held up by women in the demonstration. The demonstrators also denounced Hamid Karzai as a puppet of Washington.
