Peasants protest against non-payment of compensation

Peasants demonstrated at the sub-district office of Ramgarh in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan on 17th October. Lok Jan Samiti and Hind Naujavan Ekta Sabha organized this protest.  A petition for the Prime Minister was submitted to the Sub Tehsildar.

In the petition, the peasants have demanded that compensation be paid at the earliest for the loss of crops damaged due to the untimely and severe shower of hailstones. Crop cutting of the damaged crops was not estimated due to the carelessness of the government, due to which the insurance companies were refusing to pay crores of rupees of compensation which must be paid at the earliest. At the same time, the provision of gram seeds at a subsidized price must be made available for rabi sowing.

 

Those who addressed the protesting peasants included Kashiram Sahu, Kanhaiyyalal Jain, Manoj Sharma, Maniram Swami, Amar Singh Sahu, Krishnachand Bhambhu, Ramamurthy Bhambhu, Ramkumar .Sangar, OmPrakash Saharan and others.
