Demand for Irrigating Unirrigated Areas

On 11 Aug 2019 Unirrigated Areas Sangharsh Samiti organised a programme at Gorkhana village of Nohar tehsil of Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. Hundreds of farmers from unirrigated areas of more than a dozen villages – Bhagwansar, Karmshana, Dumasar, Chainpura, Lakhasar, Sangathia, Lalania, Kharsandi, Nagrasari, Ratusar, Shyorani, Khopda, Bhanguli, Maalia, Mandarpura, Bachusar, Jabrasar, etc participated in the programme.

Amit Chachan, local MLA, Mahant Gopalnath, President Sangharsh Samiti and Balwan Punia, MLA from Bhadra addressed the gathering.

Amit Chachan, local MLA, said that he wants every farmer and affected to benefit. The government has announced the preparation of survey and DPR of the unirrigated area but he will keep raising this issue in the Assembly until water reaches the farmers of the area. He is also trying to stop theft of water meant for irrigation.

Balwant Punia, MLA, said that the first step for fulfilment of the long-awaited dream of farmers has been successfully taken. Now farmers will have to remain alert till this task is completed.

The programme was also addressed by Hanuman Prasad Sharma, All India Vice president of Lok Raj Sangathan, Sohan Dhil, Mangej Chaudhary, Member Zila Parishad, Hemraj Sharma, Sarpanch, Krishnlal Sharma, Surendra Godara, Dinesh Nehra, Atmaram Sivar, Balwir Suthar, Shravan Tanvar, Gaurishankar Thori, Shankarlal Sharma, Dhatraram Sahu, Pratap Mahria, Sarjit Bijarnia, Ranjit Duharia, Niyamat Ali, etc.
