Delegation of CGPI in Nepal

Delegation of CGPI in Nepal to observe historic Constituent Assembly elections

People’s Voice is happy to announce that a delegation of the Communist Ghadar Party of India is in Nepal, to participate, as invited international observers, in the historic elections to the Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal scheduled to take place on April 10, 2008.

These elections to the Constituent Assembly in Nepal, are a direct outcome of the heroic struggles that the people of that country have been waging for decades, more especially over the last two years. They are of great significance in determining the fate and future of Nepal. The newly elected Constituent Assembly will not only function as the new government, but also draft the new Constitution for Nepal, opening the road for deep-going changes in the political power structure in that country.

The Anglo-American and other imperialists as well as the supporters of the monarchy and autocracy in Nepal are interested in sabotaging the elections to the Constituent Assembly and the process of framing a new Constitution for Nepal. However, the heightened political awakening and political activity that has been taking place among the people of Nepal in the last two years is forcing them into a situation where they have to pay lip service to the democratic process emerging in Nepal. The people of Nepal and all those interested in advancing the democratic process there have to be extremely wary of these forces.

People’s Voice wishes the heroic people of Nepal all success in the elections to the Constituent Assembly.
